My name is Adana. My mom pronounces it uh-Day-nuh. But there’s also a city in Turkey named Adana, and it’s pronounced Ah-dah-nah. I tend to side with my mom.
I’ve been a tarot reader for about a decade. Now I mostly stick to my daily readings. Most of the time. Some days I just don’t feel like it. Which I’m perfectly okay with.
If I had to sum up my writing in a list (because I love making lists), it would probably look like this:
- Black Girls
- Low Fantasy — with Magic
- Characters that bury their emotions
- Sex without romance
- The adverse effects of religion
There may or may not be* lots of blood. And violence. I’m told I write a good fight scene. That might have to do with all the action movies I watch. I love wuxia stories and movies with awesome martial arts sequences.
I live in my hometown of Houston, Texas. I share my apartment with my unconventionally supportive boyfriend, who’s the hyperactive dog to my selectively social cat. And an actual cat, which we’ve unofficially named Cat.
When I’m not writing, I’m building websites (like this one, which you should check out — especially if you’re a writer), making coffee syrup, or reading other people’s novels and writing down awesome words and phrases that I wish I’d thought of first.
I’m currently working on my third novel.
*There will be blood. And violence. I love action.
