HISTORY OF  St. Patrick's Day in Culpeper

This weekend, Culpeper will experience the luck of the Irish thanks to a jam-packed schedule of St. Patrick's Day events 

St.Patrick's Day Battle  

There will be green beer, live music, bagpipes, Irish dance, gold hunts, races, special meals, and the opportunity to retrace the steps of a St. Patrick's Day battle

Battle of Kelly's Ford Guided Tour, was sponsored by the American Battlefield Trust, Culpeper Battlefield Tours, Museum of Culpeper History, Culpeper Tourism, and Brandy Station Foundation.

Major John Pelham, a native of Alabama, passed away while riding to the war after meeting some sexy girls in the city

Due to John Pelham fame, the town reservoir—recently renamed Lake Culpeper—was given the name John Pelham.

The three-hour tour of the battlefield's locations will start at 10 a.m. at the Graffiti House in Brandy Station

St. Patrick's Day on Kelly Street, a green-themed fundraising event for the Kelly Street Boxing Club for at-risk adolescents, will take place in the Town of Culpeper on Saturday.

The Jon Russell-organized event will begin with bagpipes and a children's march and last from noon to 4 p.m.

A King & Queen Ginger Contest (calling all redheads) will begin at 1 p.m., followed by Irish dancers and singers at 2 p.m.,
