Plants that are poisonous to pets should not be kept inside

Dieffenbachia, often known as dumb cane, is a poisonous plant that can irritate pets' mouths, induce vomiting, and make swallowing difficult.

Philodendron: The oxalates in philodendron plants can cause digestive problems in pets as well as irritation of the mouth and throat.

Pothos, often known as Devil's Ivy, contains crystals of calcium oxalate, which when consumed by dogs can lead to oral discomfort, excessive drooling, and trouble swallowing.

Sago Palm: Extremely poisonous to animals, sago palms contain a chemical called cycasin, which can cause fatal liver damage and other health problems.

Lilies: A lot of lily species are quite poisonous to cats and can result in renal failure, especially those belonging to the Lilium and Hemerocallis genera.

The calcium oxalate crystals found in peace lilies (Spathiphyllum) can cause vomiting, trouble swallowing, and irritation of the mouth and throat in dogs.

Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica): Pets may have skin irritation from the sap of this plant, and ingesting it may induce upset stomachs.

Aloe Vera: Although aloe vera is good for people, if given to pets, it might induce vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargic behavior.
